Black Cowboys in the City of Philadelphia

Why is there so little mention of the black cowboys when so many settlers of the ‘wild west’ were black? Hollywood is a huge factor, and a film based on the book ‘Ghetto Cowboy’ by Greg Neri explores the lives of black cowboys in both a historical and modern context. Through interviews with the writer, actors and crew discuss the history and the 100-year traditions of Fletcher Street Stables in Philadelphia where real-life cowboys still exist.
