Military Drone Horses are Here
 By Winniefield Park   •   28th Dec 2020   •   1,475 views   •   0 comments

Military pack horses and mules may be a thing of the past, but the US military is spending tens of millions of dollars to build a drone/robot that can carry up to up to 400lbs (181Kg) of equipment over rough terrain to replace them. At least that’s the intent after they figure out how to prevent it from toppling into holes. Called the Legged Squat Support System, it is programmed to follow a human, gather information and do everything a horse does. The project has been put on hold, as the units were unexpectedly noisy.
