Rescue Homes For Carriage Horses
 By Winniefield Park   •   3rd May 2020   •   109 views   •   0 comments

The clip clop of hooves no longer echoes through the streets of Old Montreal and other tourist areas. As of January 1, 2020, the carriage trade came to an end. As a result, the calache horses were given other jobs, or retired. One organization, A Horse Tales Rescue is providing homes for former carriage trade horses, helping them transition from work to retirement. By providing the horses with companionship and open space, they are helping them live more comfortable lives while providing the public with education about horses through their open houses and volunteer opportunities.
