Tessie and me playing around the house. This is one of my first times jumping her over 2' 6" and she did very well, especially for only being in a halter :P The jump is 3' here.

Ouch! That would not be good if you were showing! You should never let your horse put its head down while jumping!

I am not jumping rope, it is aluminum PVC, it is very light. I am not that stupid :D Also it is because it is on an uphill slope that we are jumping and it is 3', I am not lying. Just ask some of my friends who have seen me do it several times :D

Good for you girl, she looks lovely!! We used to jump bareback, bridleless and with no stirrups all the time when i was at college. It defo helps with yours and the horses balance and you get a much better feel of the horses movement. It was very much encouraged. And its safer if it is your own horse as you already have the trust there!! 2'6" or 3', it doesnt matter really does it?? Your not in competition, your just having fun!!!! x x

Oh, and the horse has got its head down as it needs to for balance, as it would do in the wild!!! No bridle is infact safer; less interference from the rider means the horse can sort it all out for himself without being yanked in the mouth before take off and landing!! The headcollar just gives you breaks and stearing at the end!!

omg i have only jumped like 2 ft bareback and you jumped 3 ft omg that is awesome...and to everyone else that is at least 2 ft 6-9 because of the dip from the pvc pole and pvc is fine to jump with because it just falls down when knocked...you look great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
