Is there a quick snapshot way to see a horses ancestry? Other than clicking on parents?

No sadly.

The only other option is when breeding your own is do yourself a Breed chart. But I always forget to update it 😂

I would forget to update it too! Did the game used to have one? I feel like there used to be something like that (maybe 10 years ago) but can't remember. Could be mixing it up.

Gotcha! I thought I remembered one

Hmm, I wonder if it was just too computationally heavy to keep it up to date, especially now that there are so many generations of horses?

If I wasn't so busy with work and school I'd look into building a web scraper to do the work for me, but also don't know how Jeff would feel about that haha

For sure! I've been trying to figure out how people avoid the linebreeding problem. Seems like it would be very easy to do

There's certain lines I won't touch as the same horses crop up so many times in the lineage, they technically should be linebred but aren't so I just work out lines if am crossing out and just waste 10 minutes actually checking. Time consuming but am ocd about it lol.

Ah, that makes sense. I might have to do that too! I was really sad I bought a foal and was really excited about it. Did an xray and was super sad to see the linebred marker on it. Taught me a lesson though.

Check their dna too as if their linebred it usually shows there too as it gives a negative - 5 effect. Do you still have the horse iv never seen the linebred bit before on an Xray, am curious xD

OMG that is so smart! I didn't even think about checking the actual DNA as I hadn't seen it either. I retired the horse but this is its link

Oh wow it actually pops up red. Thanks for that I was curious how it come up.
Did you see its dna now and see the - 5.

That's a shame tho like you say.

Yea! I see it. I thought about keeping it and sterilizing but wasn't even sure if that was a thing any more. I just know my luck I would eventually accidently breed it and end up getting it scattered in my lines. It makes sense how the error could happen though, both sides have SUPER long lines. Bound to happen at some point.
