Yes, lots of no stirrup exercise! If someone can lunge you while you ride, do lots of no stirrup and no hands work. Sounds like the basics I know, but balance lessons on the lunge are great no matter your ability, and will definitely help your bareback cantering. =)
When cantering bareback, make sure you don't lock your body. Goes against instincts, but keep muscles relaxed so you go with him and don't bounce off. =)
